The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Tragic Details About Michelle Stafford
Michelle Stafford’s story is like no other. She left home when she was just a teen to model all over the world. Her modeling career took her to places like Japan, France and Italy. However, things turned for the worse when she discovered that she had a brain tumor at the age of 19. Michelle once said, “It was so bizarre. My left eyelid kept swelling and I didn’t know why. I went to a doctor, who took an X-ray. That’s how I found out.”
Thankfully, the tumor turned out to be benign. She also admitted that right before the surgery, Michelle felt petrified. She said, “I was pretty terrified at this moment, and I thought, oh, don’t ever forget this feeling, because nothing you go through in your life will ever be this difficult.”
Michelle has also shared her surrogacy story with the world. But The Young and the Restless star has also admitted that wasn’t the way she wanted to begin her journey with motherhood.
“No woman really wants to have another woman carry her child,” she continued. “I felt like a complete loser. I was grateful that we have the medical technology to actually do something like that. That another woman can carry your own biological child. I mean, it is remarkable. I am truly grateful now for that and for so many other reasons.”

Yet, the woman who was carrying her child, Noel, was diagnosed with cancer after giving birth to her daughter Natalia. Thankfully, her treatment turned out to be successful. Michelle said in 2020, “The cancer is completely gone. All the doctors who gave her a little smirk when she said that she was going to be cancer and continue living are now asking what she did along with her chemo. They are taking notes and they are now listening to her. She has written down everything she did so she can help others. It is truly remarkable. It’s more than a miracle.”
