The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Victor Didn’t Kill Matt – Nick Suspects He Escaped

The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Victor Didn't Kill Matt – Nick Suspects He EscapedThe Young and the Restless spoilers document that viewers wondered if Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) would follow through on what Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) wanted to do. He didn’t, and Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) lived to tell.

Fictionally, the Newman family could be tormented by Matt again. So, Nick’s wish, if realized, would have eliminated that possibility. But it also would have jeopardized his freedom if not ended it.

In reality, fans are thrilled to know that Howarth’s great run on this soap continues. He’s been, without a doubt, a great addition as this recast of a character longtime audience members first met decades ago.

Once Upon A Soapy Time In Genoa City, Wisconsin

Devoted fans recall, and newer viewers who’ve seen the flashbacks know, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) was Matt’s girlfriend initially. But he attacked her, which led to Nick’s first defense of the woman who would eventually become his wife and the mother of two of his children.

The above led to the fondly recalled Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) storyline, where Sharon rediscovered the baby she had given up for adoption. She and Nick would go on to raise her in the Cottage on the Newman Ranch, where Sharon currently lives.

Referenced memories of those 1990’s days are likely ones that modern era fans consider to be a golden age. It was arguably that which informs and injects the current storyline.

Victor Newman Made The Right Choice

When the audience saw them, Victor was punching the heavy bag as he’d done with Nick during his younger days. Flashback scenes showed Morrow and Braeden in the 1990s, when Nick was SORAS’d (soap opera rapid aging syndrome) into a high-schooler.

Digitally skipping to the present day, Victor took off his gloves, opened a closet door, and Matt was there. His hands weren’t zip-tied, and he was told to get up.

The audience was left to assume what happened, believing a fight ensued. With whatever the outcome of that confrontation, Victor took Matt to the authorities, where he’s currently awaiting legal justice.

Will Nick Newman’s Fear Be Realized?

Matt is an escape artist. He’s often eluded the law and somehow avoided being put in prison for life.

Relying on a subjective system, where known criminals can avoid earned punishment because of legal technicalities and corrupt participants, naturally made Nick want to handle his longtime nemesis himself.

Viewers should anticipate some jailhouse scenes, potentially a court case, and the possibility that Matt does, in fact, escape. Another showdown scene with Sharon would seem to be in order, though Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) is also standing in the reprisal line with her.

It would seem fitting if Sharon, representing Matt’s past, and Sienna, having currency, combined to deliver a final farewell either in the courtroom or elsewhere.
