Logan probably wasn’t going to come anywhere near their company for many years. But Brooke’s backlash provoked Katie’s rightful, passionate response, with Eric also taking her side.
Katie Logan Spencer Is Realistic And Driven
Katie has a good business head on her shoulders. Her father, Brooke, and Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) share in the credit for guiding Katie during those formative years.
In more recent times, Katie has more than proven her acumen. She’s led the public relations efforts at FC for a decade and even ran the company for a brief period during Bill’s takeover.
The idea of using Logan wasn’t about Brooke, though Lang’s character is convinced otherwise. Her comments about Katie always envying her life, even as a young girl who looked out the window in awe of her, were fully revealing.
Katie isn’t trying to one-up Brooke. Instead, Brooke feels superior as her dismissive attitude reinforces.
Ridge Forrester Reacts In The Wrong Direction
Ridge’s default mode is to defend Brooke. That is understandable because he’s her spouse, with their incredible ninth remarriage recently taking place in the FC executive suite. Yes, that actually happened, and in that setting.
If Ridge were capable of stepping back, he’d see that Katie is not trying to undermine Brooke. She simply wants to make her own way, which reflects and projects maturity.
Eric’s response to Katie and his desire to guide her are partially steeped in his memory of how FC came to be. But there is a part of Eric that wants to keep his artistic hand in the fray, and Logan offers the perfect opportunity to do so within this smart, developing storyline.
