General Hospital News: Is There A Lack Of Romance In Port Charles?
General Hospital spoilers say that a lot of fans can’t help but wonder this same thing when it comes to life in Port Charles lately: is there a lack of romance amongst many of the couples?
Is There A Lack Of Romance In Port Charles?
That’s what a lot of viewers seem to think. After all, this is daytime television and yet it seems like General Hospital hasn’t really seen any action between the sheets or other places compared to the other soaps that are currently on the air right now.
This has also prompted a lot of people to wonder: what gives? Is there a reason why General Hospital writers are clearly omitting scenes that include romance, or are they just trying to take the show in a different direction?
Of course, many General Hospital fans certainly had a lot to say about the matter on social media.

Some even commented with, “They need some new men on GH. Get rid of the DA and bring in a strong male character to use with all the single ladies / Alexis Diane Ava Nina…recast Jax for the same reason. Maybe Liz and Dante …BLQ and Dante – someone needs to redeem Dante’s character lol, recast Kevin.”
Another critic wrote, “I mean most couples on this show don’t have chemistry and have no business dating each other.”
“We watched Elizabeth and Finn date and however anyone feels about Finn, it was clear as day that Finn and Elizabeth were better as friends and dated for the sake of Violet.”
“Better yet Finn had more chemistry with Yuri and his lizard than with Elizabeth.”
And then there was this comment as well: “I have to say that there’s no couple that excites me at the moment. I would like Britt and Jason to get it together.”
“I don’t think anyone else has chemistry with their partner. I haven’t been excited about a pairing since Charles Mesure left.”

Have to agree that chemistry left canvas when CM decided to leave. GH has been lacking good chemistry pairings for some time. Even when Sonny/Carly supposedly conceived Donna there were no close scenes between the two, not even holding hands as my girl friend and I had discussed at the time. If characters aren’t written to to be loving, there is no the actors can pull it off. Most couplings in my opinion are just thrown together to have a pairings. And now writers are pushing a Jason/Britt pairing which will not work chemistry wise either. Before Britt was killed off the only connection I saw between the two is they were on the run and had to depend on one another which caused a bond, not that they were romantically interested in one another it was like if you can’t have the one you want, then love the one you are with. Another problem is that almost every character has been with another previously thus the merry-go-round of characters with no one new male or female entering canvas. I know COVID put a hold on romance, but some times if writers are wise enough and just playing it safe whereby actors health is concerned. Personally, I would prefer no pairings if the pairings didn’t show chemistry.
