The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Cane’s Deal With Lily Comes Too Late — Phyllis’ Reckless Move Backfires

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) finally had a breakthrough.
The drink and brief conversation Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) agreed to have with him at Society produced hopeful fruit.
Cane told Lily what motivated him to pursue the Aristotle Dumas persona and the wealth that he built after his father, Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers), gifted him a fortune and the chateau in the south of France.
But Cane’s decision to agree to Lily’s request that he give her his artificial intelligence weapon may have come too late.
Viewers knew that companion scenes showed Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) fiendishly motoring toward stealing Cane’s AI tool.
Phyllis Summers Injects Herself Into The Plot
Cane is bad at recruitment. His man servant, Carter (Vincent Stalba), revealed himself to be a murderer, killing two characters and then himself.
The head of Arabesque wanted to specifically work with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Phyllis. Cane went along with labeling Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) a wild card. But Billy and Phyllis fit that bill where he’s concerned.
Billy was fired, and Phyllis was pushed off, or appeared to be. Sparked by a decades-old grudge with Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell), Phyllis turned to the one area of life she feels is controllable.
But her computer hacking skills should create major trouble for many, likely including herself.
Lily Winters Wants Family Peace
Cane didn’t realize it, but his former two-time wife is trying to help him make amends with their children. Asking for the AI tool so she can destroy it is a smart plan.
It’s also a good first step, which Cane and the viewers also took as an implication that personal reconciliation might be on the table. Of course, there are plenty of episodes to go until Lily would consider reopening her heart to Cane. But it became plausible when he told her to consider her request to be done.
What Cane didn’t know was that Phyllis was feverishly scheming to steal his AI software and then follow through with his plan to take control of Genoa City, Wisconsin’s legacy companies.
While Cane said he was never interested in Winters Incorporated, Phyllis doesn’t care about protecting anyone but herself at this point.
Cane Ashby Is The Fall Guy
Everyone will believe that Cane is lying if Phyllis can harness the power of his AI tool and attack the financial infrastructures of Newman Enterprises, Chancellor, Jabot, and other businesses.
Phyllis will have to be Cane’s number one suspect, with Billy potentially being at the top of that list based on his vow for payback. So, the burden will be on Cane to prove his innocence.
Assuming Phyllis goes rogue and creates mayhem for GC’s businesses, Cane will be blamed. While he’ll probably clear his name over time, Lily’s response will be fierce, and all will seem lost.
Phyllis will be laughing for a while. But Cane’s need to stop her and create a worthy punishment will be worth the watch as autumn unfolds.
