The Bold and the Beautiful Scott Clifton on Liam’s Future: “He Could Be Dead in Minutes!”
The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) will pull through after taking a bullet from the crazy Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada). The actor, Scott Clifton, sat down with Soap Opera Digest to give his take on his alter ego’s shocking storyline.
Scott Clifton Was Surprised By The Shooting Storyline
Liam’s life was already on the line before Luna turned the gun on him. He has a fatal brain tumor with only months to live. Clifton said when he saw the script he was surprised.
He never expected Liam to get shot. He was under the impression that Liam would face health challenges due to his brain tumor.
“That was surprising, even to me,” Clifton shares. “But it was really cool and fun to do. And the show executed the scenes very well.”
The Bold and the Beautiful actor shared they have changed how they film firearm scenes. He mused that he loves the makeup involved with special effects, especially when the apply fake blood on him.
Liam Had No choice
The way Clifton sees it, Liam had to open fire on Luna. He saw Luna as a threat to Steffy Forrester (Jaqueline MacInnes Wood). Luna was still standing, pointing her gun in Steffy’s direction. And as Clifton points out, let’s not forget Luna just shot Liam.
“So, Liam is dying of a brain tumor, but he’s been shot in the stomach and he’s likely in a state of shock. His first thought is, ’I got to save Steffy.” That has always been his motive: Keep Steffy and the kids safe from harm. The brain tumor was one thing, but after taking a bullet, Liam understands that he could be dead in a matter of minutes. He knew if he didn’t act to save Steffy from Luna, she could be next,” Clifton explains.
The Bold and the Beautiful star loved the line he uttered just before pulling the trigger,” I am a dead man, anyway.” The actor shares that at the moment; Liam didn’t care about going to jail for murder or what could happen to him. The only thing he cared about was protecting Steffy from this lunatic.
Bill Finds Out About Liam’s Tumor and The Shooting
Clifton noted that soap fans understand soap storylines and the writing styles of their favorite shows. He liked the element of surprise that came with this storyline. I
nstead of a sad storyline where everyone is saying goodbye to him due to his brain tumor, they switched the storyline to the shooting.
The actor also explains that the shooting will place Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) in the storyline as he grapples with the reality of his son not only getting shot by Sheila Carter’s (Kimberlin Brown) granddaughter but is dying from a brain tumor. It will give Diamont an emotional storyline, something that Clifton says his TV dad is great at.
“It is a perfect way to introduce the character of Bill to the storyline. It makes it impossible not to, and that is something the fans have been waiting for [SIC] for a long time. Everybody has been going, ‘Okay when is Bill going to find out about this?’” the actor reveals.
“I think it’s reasonable to say that if Liam has any chance of surviving this, you can’t not see Bill come into play in the very next shot.”
