That’s because the former actor is responding to all of the speculation and tweets that he might have been let go from his job at the hit CBS soap because of his political affiliations. Is Doug Davidson stirring the pot again? That’s what a lot of royal fans certainly want to know. When one of his fans wrote, “@DougDavidsonYR Was such a big fan when you were on the Y&R. You were one of my favorites. So sad you crossed over to the MAGA dark side,” Doug promptly replied with, “That’s just propaganda. But that seems to be the MO of the platform.”
After another one of his fan said, “Political affiliations should not influence anyone’s judgment of another. Each of us bleed RED. Full stop. All of us have differences of opinions. If we didn’t, omy, the world would be boring as heck. People should be judged on character, not character assassinations,” Doug added, “Totally agree, Matt.”

And then this follower said, “You should be judged on your acting abilities not your political beliefs. It’s no one’s business but your own. Btw you were great as Paul. I would enjoy seeing you play that role again,” to which Doug said, “Thank you so much.”
Clearly, Doug is not over the drama that he left behind at The Young and the Restless, which was both on screen and off, right? It just never stops.

I don’t think it was because of his politics, but in this crazy world, anything is possible. I do know that Hollywood has hatred and punishes anyone who veers from the left. In the end, we’ll never truly know. But it is odd that many old timers have been invited back except him, now that I think about it.
