According to The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers, Seth’s (Brian Gaskill) character died too soon. His character wasn’t given a chance to have a storyline of his own. Seth was Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) sponsor. Unfortunately, he met his fate. Read on to learn more.
Y&R Spoilers: Was Seth Gone Too Soon?
The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest that Seth left the show too soon. Fans were curious to learn more about his character. The spoilers suggested that more details would be revealed during February sweeps. Yet, Seth was barely onscreen during that time.
Nikki pushed him out of the picture. She told Seth that she couldn’t have him as her sponsor anymore. Instead, she relied on Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). On the Thursday, March 7 episode, Seth met his faith when Jordan (Colleen Zenk) pushed him in the road. He was hit by oncoming traffic.
Seth was never given a chance to have a storyline. At the time, there was speculation as to whether he was related to Audra Charles (Zulekya Silver), who revealed to Nikki that her father was an alcoholic. Y&R fans want to know the point of Seth’s storyline. He was a scapegoat for Jordan’s devious plan.
The user Sara_in_BC posted on the SoapCentral.com Message Boards: “There was no point to Seth. Also, the Jordan story is so predictable and IMO it’s been a waste of time.”
“They didn’t think Seth’s story arch through. You can tell they were just winging it from the time they brought him on and the end did not use him well. SMH,” one fan wrote.
“Exactly, what a waste. He could have been an interesting character and I would have loved for him to have been Audra’s alcoholic father,” another user mused.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Seth Was Underused
According to The Young and the Restless spoilers, Seth was severely underused. He could’ve had a chance to share his story about alcoholism. Y&R fans looked forward to him possibly coming face-to-face with Audra. Instead, he got entangled with Jordan, which ended his life.
There could’ve been more to Seth than the story of a rough-around-the-edges type of guy who struggles with alcohol. He was only there to get close to Jordan, who wanted to get revenge on the Newman family. Seth didn’t see the warning signs and it cost him.
“I guess they didn’t know what to do with the Seth character. There was really no point in bringing him on just to have him be another victim of the diabolical Jordan!” one fan wrote.
“I did not see the point of having the Seth character. But is he really dead? But if he isn’t, he could come back and help the Jordan situation,” another user suggested.
