The royal divorce rumor mill is in high gear again. That’s because there’s so much speculation about the state of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s marriage so much so that a lot of royal critics believe they might already be living very separate lives. In fact, one source even suggested that the Princess of Wales not accommodate her husband Prince William during his royal engagements just because she steals his thunder so much. Here’s what you need to know.

One source close to the situation told The Daily Express that one of the reasons why Kate Middleton has been told to keep her distance from Prince William while they are at least in public is because the future king of England doesn’t want to be overshadowed by his very popular wife. The insider said, ““It can be all about what the princess wears as far as the media is concerned, which means some of the big issues get ignore. When he is on his own, the coverage tends to be about the issues he is trying to highlight.” 

This might also be one of the reasons why the Princess of Wales won’t be joining her husband for the EarthShot Awards in Singapore in November. It goes without saying that many royal fans and critics alike have had a lot to say about the matter on social media. Some commented with, “Well, if a separation/divorce happens, the UK is where she will be living and where she will want public support. I believe they have been separated for months now- just nothing has been officially announced,” along with, “Memories of Charles and Diana spring to mind. They did lots of solo events as their marriage deteriorated. The only difference is that both had full schedules compared to the lazy duo.”

Is A Royal Divorce Announcement Coming Next?

Another royal critic wrote, “Any separation rumors will initially come from favored reporters. I think Kate really underestimates how the press will turn on her in the blink of an eye and the smear campaign William will unleash.”
