General Hospital spoilers and updates for Wednesday, July 19 tease serious statements, cover stories and family checks. Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) makes serious statements, Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) does family checks, and Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) talks about cover stories.

General Hospital Spoilers: Serious Statements

Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) questions Spencer and he makes a serious statement, something she loves the sound of. He tells her that Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) should run as far away from him as she possibly can! That sounds incredulous coming from Spencer, who loves Trina and has waited so long for them to be together.

But Spencer’s family obligations to his little brother Ace Prince-Cassadine (Joey and Jay Clay) have had to come first as of late, and time with Trina has become less and less. Spencer is probably looking at reality and no matter how much he and Trina might want to be together, his family obligations are getting in the way.

GH Spoilers: Family Checks

Meanwhile, Trina is at a restaurant having a meal with Marcus Taggert who’s doing a family check. Marcus will never stop being Trina’s dad even though the DNA results came back that Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) is her birth father. And Curtis seems to be the topic of conversation as Trina says they’re struggling with his heartbeat. His heart stopped poolside after he was shot at the Metro Court Pool and again on the operating table after doctors removed the bullet.

General Hospital Spoilers: Cover Stories

At the Metro Court Pool, Sasha is having a conversation with Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) about damage control and cover stories. Gladys looks sarcastically doubtful as Sasha says there’s no need to prepare if you have nothing to hide. Gladys has plenty to hide and her preparation is not with Sasha’s best interests at heart.

Little does Sasha know her psychiatrist, Damon Montague (Darin Toonder) is Gladys’ gambling buddy and the pills he’s given her are messing her up. That’s Damon and Gladys’ plan to keep Sasha’s accounts under Gladys’ control.

GH Spoilers: Cody Bell Worries

Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) is also poolside as he talks to someone and asks if something won’t just make things worse? He’s just come from the Quartermaine mansion where he’d offered his little apartment over the stable to Ned Quartermaine/Eddie Maine (Wally Kurth). “Neddie” preferred to return to Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) place. Cody’s biggest concern, however, is Sasha and what he knows that Gladys is doing-he doesn’t know the whole story yet but he’s definitely suspicious.

General Hospital Spoilers: Sisterly Talks

Elsewhere, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) has a sisterly talk with Molly Lansing-Davis bethat what’s making you so upset?” The girls’ mom, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) had warned Sam about the situation, where Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) had offered to be a surrogate prematurely.

Kristina had meant well but Molly’s pride seems to be hurt over not being able to produce viable eggs or carry a baby. Molly had accused Kristina of making everything about her.

GH Spoilers: Esmé Prince Has Concerns

Meanwhile, over at The Invader, Esmé Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) has concerns about an article that Alexis was planning to publish. Esmé is adamant that Alexis shouldn’t publish the article, although as a secretary she really has no say. There’s a possibility that said article might be about Heather Webber (Alley Mills) and Esmé doesn’t want to poke the bear. That would be understandable since Esmé wanted nothing to do with her birth mother and wants her to have nothing to do with Ace.

General Hospital Spoilers: A Daddy-Daughter Talk

Meanwhile, Kristina is talking to Sonny, and she is very upset-she tells her dad that her foundations are being ripped out from under her. Kristina is heartbroken at Molly’s reactions to what Kristina feels is an unselfish act of love and a solution to a problem. Alexis had concerns that it was bad timing and Kristina should wait until surrogacy is brought up by Molly and TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) as an option.

Kristina understandably feels rejected and that her family ties with her sister have been severed. Sonny quietly listens and lets her get it out, as she works through her feelings.
