General Hospital Star Briana Nicole Henry Explains Her Struggles With PCOS
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is a condition in which the ovaries produce an abnormal amount of androgens that are usually present in women in small amounts. Some of the symptoms include irregular periods or no periods at all, difficulty getting pregnant (because of irregular ovulation or no ovulation), and thinning hair and hair loss from the head.
The former General Hospital star took to her social media account to explain to her fans that “there’s been a lot going on in my heart and head space.” She said that because of everything she was going through, Briana no longer recognized her body as her own.
She wrote, “I’m still wrapping my head around it, to be honest. Confused because I don’t have a lot of the symptoms of someone who has PCOS, thankfully, but I’m learning there’s a spectrum. Like everything right? There’s a spectrum.”

Briana added, “Which on top of everything I’d been through, felt like even more of something to think about and process that I didn’t have time for. It’s still hard. It’s hard to prioritize my health in the face of this new transition into motherhood.”
However, Briana did add that her daughter Coda is definitely a huge source of strength for her right now. She said that her daughter, “has no concept of beauty, she just knows I feel good and safe to her. I’d like to adopt that philosophy. I’d like to be able to make myself feel safe, truly safe.”
