The Bold and the Beautiful Star Kimberlin Brown Opens Up About How She Went From A Tomboy To A Beauty Queen
While speaking to Soap Opera Digest in an interview, Kimberlin told the publication at the time that while growing up, she was the ultimate beach girl. She said, “I got to play the beach bum, and then I went up to Northern California to the ranch [which belongs to her grandparents] to be the cowgirl. My dream is to do a Western, because I can drive up to a six-horse hitch on a wagon, and I can rope and I can barrel race.”
But it wasn’t until she got to shed her tomboy image and enter a beauty contest that things began to change for her. She also said that some of the pageant directors weren’t too keen on her attitude. That’s because she won! Kimberlin recalled, “They all thought I was a little cocky because I wasn’t the perfect little lady they wanted me to be. The thing about being a beauty queen is you really have to be poised all the time and agree with your superiors, and that’s something I didn’t do.” But, she adds, “I smiled all the time.”
The Bold and the Beautiful Star Kimberlin Brown Recalls Her Modeling Days
Before she knew it, Kimberlin said that she began to land modeling jobs with speaking parts. She said, ““I thought, ‘This isn’t so tough. I can do this.’ I got a theatrical agent immediately and the very first thing I read for was a guest spot on CHARLES IN CHARGE. When I went in for my reading, they just laughed hysterically, so I thought I was giving the best reading in the world and was extremely funny. Well, I stunk. I was horrible. I called my agent and told him not to send me out on anything until I told him I was ready. I got into acting classes, and I was ready six months later. After that, it was just up all the way.”
