Sarah Ferguson Says Her Wedding Day To Prince Andrew Was The Best Moment Of Her Life

Sarah Ferguson is living a life with no regrets. The Duchess of York recently opened up about Prince Andrew, their marriage, and why Queen Elizabeth was always a huge source of support for them. Here’s what she has to say.

Sarah Ferguson Says Her Wedding Day To Prince Andrew Was The Best Moment Of Her Life

Speaking to The Independent in a new interview, Fergie says that her wedding day back in July 1986 is one that is going to go down as the biggest highlight of her life. She put it this way, “Nothing can beat love for me… when you are in love, you can do anything for love. And I married a wonderful, very kind, and a very good man. I fell in love with him. And therefore, nothing was unsurmountable.”

In the same interview, Sarah also said that she had nothing but love for her late mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth. And together with their daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, they were able to help support Prince Andrew during his darkest hour. As many royal fans can remember, the Duke of York and his accuser Virginia Giuffre reached an out-of-court settlement in her sexual abuse lawsuit against him, according to a court document filed by her attorneys. While Andrew did not admit guilt in a statement announcing the settlement, he interestingly did say that he commends Giuffre and other survivors of sexual abuse for standing up for themselves.

What’s Next For Fergie?

Speaking about that turbulent time in everyone’s lives, Sarah said, “The three of us have helped their father through a very tricky time. And don’t forget also that his mum was amazing. The Queen and I, when she was alive, we both bookended him to help him through this. So, we’re a very strong family unit. No one can break the York family.”

Sarah also said that she tries not to judge anyone, especially when it comes to the pressure they have to face within the royal family. Of course, she is talking about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. She said, “I married into the royal family in 1986 and that was an immense honor but it also came with pressures of being in the public eye. I struggled with that at times, and I think social media probably makes it even more difficult today. I don’t believe in judging anyone, and I would just ask for a little more kindness.”
