In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, Griffith admitted that he’s aware that many fans out there were unhappy with the news that he had fired his entire breakdown writing team. He said that it was something that had to have been done, regardless of what direction the storylines were going in. He said, “It was a creative decision that we felt would streamline the process and give us more efficiency, given the detailed thrust and layout we were already doing.”
Griffith also said that he certainly does pay attention to all of the feedback that he’s been getting online that has been both good and bad. He said, “You used to wait weeks before people would write their letters telling you how much they hate what you’re doing. Now you can find out by the end of the day.”

Of course, many The Young and the Restless viewers commented on the matter with, “Interesting that he didn’t say, ‘…people would write their letters telling you how they feel about what you’re doing…’ I guess Josh Griffith already knows that any feedback to his work as HW is going to be telling him how much they hate what he’s doing? If only TPTB over Griffith would see how the majority of viewers and fans are NOT pleased with JG’s work and would perhaps consider making a needed change.”
Another critic wrote, “He didn’t really say much. They should have went to the cast, and a certain male actor’s dressing room for comment. I hope it all turns out for the best.
