The Young and the Restless News: Is Detective Paul Williams Being Killed Off The Show?

The Young and the Restless news says that the soap community apparently freaked out at the mere suggestion that Doug Davidson’s character, Paul Williams, was going to be killed off the show. And while there’s no confirmation of that happening, let’s just say that Twitter was certainly lit with a lot of commentary. No one wants to see Detective Paul die! Here’s what you need to know.

Doug Davidson himself even commented on the matter when he wrote on Twitter, “I don’t even know how to thank you all for all the love. Just know I am sending all my love back. You all are so amazing. Does Paul Die on Young & Restless? Fan Reaction Is Humongous!”

Needless to say, many fans and critics alike sure did have a lot to say about the matter. Some commented with, “You deserve so much better. I have been watching since you started the show in the late 70’s. You have always been one of my favorites. Nothing against Danny or Chance but I would rather have Paul back on the show. It makes me both sad and mad the way they have treated you,” along with, “The 50th anniversary deserves Paul Williams back on the show and there are storylines with Chase and Cricket/Danny that make sense. What did Doug Davidson sue to be treated like this? Why should loyal fans miss out on this legend? CBS fix this!!!”

Another critic wrote, “I remember when Paul was at the center of things. This show not respecting you is also them not respecting us long time viewers. Something has been off with #YR for awhile now.”

And then there was this comment: “It’s really heartbreaking the way they treated you, I just can’t understand why they would do that to you. Just know we will always be your fans, and they can never take that away from you.  Btw Bill Bell would have NEVER  done this to you either.  Much love, a VERY big fan.”
