The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Billy’s Playing With Fire – Pregnant Sally Sidelined While He Parties With Audra?
The Young and the Restless spoilers show that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) has a baby on the way with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).
Not only that, he believes he actually has a claim to Chancellor Industries. That’s a guy who seems to have life figured out, right? Well, instead he’s celebrating with other women while Sally watches from the sidelines.
After everything that Billy has done, does he deserve another shot at redemption?
He’s Got Quite The History
Billy has a pattern, and it’s no secret. He gets close to something stable, chases it, and wins. Great! No.
After he wins, there’s another shiny lure that he starts chasing after. He becomes obsessed, and everything blows up in his face. Now, he’s got a baby on the way. Surely, a wedding at some point. Instead, he’s celebrating with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver).
Ironically, Jason Thompson might be one of the better actors on the show. Everything he does on-screen feels pretty genuine, but at what point does his character Billy realize his faults and try something else? The main problem is he rarely faces real consequences. Someone is always there to forgive him, and thus, the story starts again.
Is Billy Redeemable?
If the show wants to make Billy’s redemption arc something we enjoy, they need to make Sally and the baby the main staple of it.
Give him something he cannot talk his way out of. Make it so Sally isn’t going to forgive and forget every time
. Keep Sally strong, and tell Billy that if he wants them in his life, he needs to shape up. A real redemption requires loss and compromise. Not just a dramatic apology and something that disappears in a few months.
Otherwise, this just becomes another runaround where Billy doesn’t learn anything and somehow comes out unscathed.
Billy and Sally are capable of becoming some of the most interesting characters in Genoa City; the writers just need to realize the magic they currently hold.
Sally and Billy could easily be the next power couple on the show. Independently, they were already strong characters and interesting. With a baby, a company and a little common sense from Billy. They could become unstoppable.
