The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers: Hope Wrong About Brooke’s Loyalty & Katie Scores Another Dirty Win
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) heard the bad news. Noelle’s reaction shot included eyebrow-raising and a forlorn look.
Telling Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) that she chose Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) over her was a miscalculation.
It was made in the moment, and because Hope anticipated the opposite outcome.
Brooke didn’t side against Hope. As viewers know, she accepted her husband’s logic after only momentarily becoming emotional and later asked him to do one thing.
Brooke Logan Forrester Requests Hope For The Future’s Reinstatement
Hope immediately assumed a zero-sum game. But Brooke hadn’t wronged her, with devoted viewers recalling a dark period in this daughter-mother relationship.
There was a time not so long ago when Hope went off the rails. The woman who consistently spurned Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) did a turnabout and decided to have a transactional relationship with him in what was an unseemly tale.
It was during that period that Hope treated her mother with utter disrespect, citing Brooke’s sordid past with various men as a reason why she was cavorting with Thomas.
By the end of that mini arc, Hope broke down in tears and actually said “mommy” as she embraced her mother.
A repeat of the break between Hope and Brooke is established by her imminent association with Logan.
Ridge Forrester Had No Choice
Steffy has done all that could be expected and more. So, there was no legitimate way Ridge could oust her as co-Chief Executive Officer.
Viewers probably also thought that Ridge isn’t the sole decision-maker. He reports to the Board of Directors. Plus, Eric Forrester (John McCook) would hold final say on a change of that magnitude, being the co-founder and Chairman Emeritus of the family fashion house that bears his name.
So, basically, Brooke was just lobbying her nine-time husband in hopes of persuading him to do as she pleased. Thankfully, he held firm and didn’t demote Steffy and elevate Brooke.
That move almost certainly would have produced a short honeymoon moment followed by plenty of angst. Their ninth divorce would have been telegraphed.
Katie Logan Spencer Goes For More
Katie is building a brand. She’s also maritally aligned with Dollar Bill Spencer (Don Diamont), which means she endorses his killer business instinct.
Having Eric deliver Logan’s first fashion line was a mega get. But fashion is a what-have-you-shown-me-lately industry, and new rags are needed soon.
So, courting Hope to jump from Forrester Creations is a bold move on this daytime show. Securing Brooke’s daughter, following the use of Ridge’s father, furthers what is proving to be a highly engaging storyline with plenty of family conflict runway ahead.
