General Hospital Spoilers: Is Nathan Really Peter, Or Is An Even More Bizarre Twist Coming For Maxie?
General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that since Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) made his return to Port Charles, there has been an unsettling quality to his character.
Nathan’s response to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) waking up only reinforced the idea that Nathan is not the person he claims to be, nor does he truly understand himself.
There’s More To What Happened To Nathan Than Meets The Eye
At least one fan of GH is skeptical about Nathan being Peter; additionally, an unforeseen twist may be on the horizon for Nathan and Maxie.
When will fans get more insights into Nathan? Nathan’s (Ryan Paevey) response to Maxie’s (Kirsten Storms) awakening and her return to Port Charles was not what GH fans anticipated from him.
It had been over seven years since Nathan last saw Maxie, yet he didn’t hurry to her celebration or the hospital to visit her-instead, the couple encountered each other while visiting Nathan’s grave.
This happened after Nathan spent the day at work steering clear of anything related to Maxie.
Something Weird’s Going On-Something’s Off
There’s no doubt that his actions were quite uncharacteristic of Nathan, which adds to the list of other puzzling elements, like the cigarette butt, that don’t quite make sense regarding his return.
One fan on X believes that his behavior indicates he’s not Peter August (Wes Ramsey) and that viewers should expect a story that isn’t “straightforward.” “If ‘Nathan’ were truly Peter, I genuinely think he’d be eager to be with Maxie.
So I don’t believe it’ll be that simple.” The fan continued, “I suspect it’s more likely to actually be Nathan, but with his mind, or some of his memories, altered,” the fan said.
We have to concur that the chances of Nathan being Peter in disguise are virtually nonexistent-there’s no way Peter could conceal his obsession with Maxie while still keeping his distance from her.
Could Nathan Have Been Brainwashed?
Moreover, it appears quite improbable that Peter would attempt to initiate a relationship with Maxie’s closest friend, Lulu (Alexa Havins), during her coma.
The twist involving Nathan is a topic that GH fans have been discussing for quite some time, especially considering the timing of both Nathan’s and Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) returns.
It’s likely that Nathan has undergone brainwashing, similar to how Drew Cain (originally Billy Miller) was made to believe he was Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) through a memory transfer.
We’re not suggesting that Nathan has a twin, but that could certainly clarify his actions and the reason behind his 7-year absence.
Currently, there are undoubtedly more questions than answers concerning Nathan, but with Maxie’s return, we can hope to receive some clarity.
