The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Kyle Was Right – Jack Shocks Everyone by Offering Matt to Victor
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) has been on it since he returned early from his trip to sunny California.
The cold chill of winter in Genoa City, Wisconsin, is felt as a result of his having the Jabot security team track all things Newman.
Thankfully for the Newman family, though Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) won’t see it that way, Kyle’s instinct was sharp and paid off big time.
The Jabot security team exacted Matt Clark (Roger Howarth), who miraculously survived the car crash he caused and then slinked away from the wooded area where Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) lay stranded and injured.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) couldn’t be prouder of his son as he delivered Matt to him. That gives Smilin’ Jack leverage over the Moustache.
The Shadow Room Is Merely A Memory
Matt lost his wife and was forced to reveal his identity. That’s not how he envisioned life late last year, before Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) recognized him outside The Shadow Room.
Jack’s recognition of Matt implies that he didn’t have further facial surgery after his last appearance in GC. That was a quarter-century ago, when this character was portrayed by fellow daytime veteran Rick Hearst (Matt).
The Carter Mills persona that Heart’s version used to dupe everyone years ago was replaced by Mitch Bacall’s ruse. He owned the club that Kyle’s ex-girlfriend, but still-soulmate, Claire Newman (Hayley Erin), was taken to by Holden Novak (Nathan Owens).
That served as the reappearance setting of Matt and the introduction of his wife, Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun), who is now openly with Noah Newman (Lucas Adams).
Jack Abbott Needed Another Way In
The Abbotts were considering all angles in recent weeks. They didn’t want to allow Victor to use the stolen artificial intelligence tool Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) provided to crush Jabot as he did Arabesque.
But Jack’s recent decision to spur Phyllis’ help seemed risky, and it was. Sure enough, days later, the Jabot security team secures Mat, who had been on the loose.
This type of bargaining chip puts Victor in a precarious position. As Jack just told Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), Victor is not invincible. So, the proposed trade of Matt for the AI tool will test that statement.
Victor Newman Responds To Being Cornered
It feels too easy to believe that Jack will trade Matt for the means Victor intended to use for Jabot’s destruction. How Braeden’s character responds to this pressured proposal will be worth the watch.
Hypothetically, Victor could hedge or delay acceptance and report Matt’s capture to the authorities. In that outcome, he could retain the AI program and keep Jack over a soapy barrel.
But Jack’s proposal to Cane must be leading somewhere. Plus, viewers know that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) want to set Cane up to take the fall after they steal the digital tool themselves.
