The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Colin’s Timeless Wisdom Shines – Celebrating Tristan Rogers’ Legacy

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) wanted to help the man she used to love. But Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) refused to reveal his business plans and, in doing so, failed to make progress with his more important personal goal.

Cane is unfocused. As much as he pushes a strong front, the head of Arabesque doesn’t know where he’s going. Striving to rediscover love while not being honest with Lily isn’t smart.

The plan to seize the legacy companies that prominent families run might work. But Lily’s reaction to Cane since he revealed not being Aristotle Dumas should tell him to drop the goal that he and his late father, Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers), developed.

All Hail The Life Of Tristan Rogers

Bravery. That’s one noun that can be used to describe Rogers’ agreeing to return to the cast of Y&R to film his final scenes a handful of weeks before dying at the age of 79.

Rogers will be forever remembered for portraying Robert Scorpio on General Hospital. His indelible run on that classic steamer stretched from 1980 through this year. The actor was hired to do a one-day guest spot and performed so well that he went on to create one of the most enduring characters in daytime television history.

This brilliant actor won a 2020 Daytime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Digital Drama Series for portraying the character of Doc in Studio City.

His memorable stint on Y&R was from 2010 through 2019 and fittingly included a final appearance during this week’s episodes.

Cane Ashby Forced To Deal With Grief And Honor

Cane believed that his father secured a fortune through legitimate means. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) appears to have located information that proves otherwise.

If Cane is right, then he might realize the goal he and Colin planned. The intention was to take GC by storm, which would propel him to remake his life with Lily and their children, Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander Gerry).

However, Cane will be devastated if the will Victor presented to him proves to be real. Victor believes Colin stole an elderly woman’s fortune and her estate, which Cain inherited.

Colin Atkinson Wanted What Was Best For His Son

Y&R honored Rogers with scenes the actor shot before his passing earlier this month, with scenes where Cane was by Colin’s bedside. The sight of Rogers, obviously ill, delivering his lines with emotion and gusto, demonstrates how real the soap opera world was and remains.

The final lines Rogers spoke had Colin reinforcing the love he had for Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) and telling him that resolving family differences with Lily and their children had to happen as soon as possible.

While it’s been revealed that Colin obtained an inheritance through deception, he decided to take that fall to provide Cane with an opportunity to make amends. It was a selfless gift that a dying father gave to his son.

Life and art blended into one, creating a sendoff that became part of the lore of this great show. Rogers will forever be fondly remembered.
