The Young and the Restless spoilers indicate that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) put his trust in Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), which is something few were willing to do in Genoa City.

However, she still betrayed his trust on multiple occasions, even after coupling with her and bringing him into his family circle. Audra’s impulsive handling of the aftermath of her failed attempt to trick Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) in France led to what happened in front of Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) at Chancellor Park and Society.

Claire rejected Audra’s assertions that Kyle betrayed her. While the death of Nate’s brother caused Claire to restrain herself, she will tell Nate what Audra has been up to.

Cole Howard’s Death Is Impactful

Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) hadn’t been seen on this show in years. The return of this character, who was first seen as a baby in the early 1980s and as a SORAS’d (soap opera rapid aging syndrome) adult in the early 1990s, was tied to the reintroduction of Eve Nicole Howard.

Eve was the daughter of Cole and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) believed they lost her at birth. But as viewers learned, Cole’s demented aunt, Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk), stole Eve when she was born and raised her as Claire Grace.

Jordan’s revenge plot included luring Cole to a remote cabin along with the Newman family. A brainwashed Claire believed her parents had abandoned her at birth and was posing as her middle namesake grandmother’s (Nikki Newman, Melody Thomas Scott) assistant at Newman Media. Together, Jordan and Claire were going to kill Cole and the Newmans.

Thankfully, Claire saw the daytime light and reversed course. While her father’s life and others were preserved, Cole sadly died recently from Legionnaires’ Disease. That unexpected loss naturally created profound grief for Claire and Victoria.

Audra Charles Doesn’t Know How To Live

Audra claims to have endured childhood trauma. A detailed explanation of her backstory hasn’t been seen in retrospect. Whatever that tale, it doesn’t justify hurting a variety of people since she and her mentor Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) first arrived in GC.

It’s hard to imagine that Audra’s experiences compare to Claire’s. But even if that proves true, Claire is using her free will to try and live a good life.

In contrast, Claire creates grandiose plans based on her so-called business experience as Tucker’s twisted romantic connection slash corporate underling. Audra is all talk and no real results, which Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) saw through and used to justifiably terminate his amoral agreement with her to con Kyle.

Nate Hastings Deserves Someone Better

Like most people in this fabled Midwestern city, Nate has gone astray. But the missteps he made when first switching from medicine to business were corrected.

His good heart was open to Audra, who should have followed his example rather than her me-first desires. But she didn’t, as the multiple kisses she planted on Kyle in recent weeks reinforced.

Claire’s reveal to Nate will change his dating dynamic with Audra. When reconsidering his relationship with Silver’s character, that’s all they were doing. He’ll realize that she never truly committed to him and never got over her infatuation with Kyle, which should open the door to Victoria.
