General Hospital Fans Are Disappointed Over The Latest News About Ryan Carnes

There’s a new report that says the producers have decided not to bring back Ryan Carnes to reprise his role as Lucas on the hit ABC soap. And of course, fans are absolutely baffled by the decision.

Instead, they have decided to recast the role with actor Van Hansis, who a lot of soap fans might remember from As The World Turns.

The news was first reported by TV Insider. Van’s first air date in Port Charles is expected to be on Friday, October 4th.

For a lot of longtime viewers of the show, the decision does come as a shock, especially since it seems like the soap has been recasting a lot of the roles with newcomers rather than bring back old favorites. And of course, everyone wants to know why.

Many General Hospital fans even took to social media to write comments such as, “Is there a reason Carnes isn’t playing the character of Lucas?? It seems the new writers aren’t interested in the history of characters. First LuLu and now Lucas. So far I have been disappointed in GH and the direction it’s going.”

Another critic wrote, “Why bring back a despicable character like Rick Lansing that has no redeeming qualities and send a beloved character like Finn to rehab? Too many stories/people. Getting bored with GH.”

And then there was this comment as well: “While I wish Ryan Carnes was returning in the role, I wish this new addition luck as Lucas. Maybe Carnes is busy on other projects. I believe he recently produced a film for a streaming service.”

So far the producers of the show have not made any comments about any of the criticism that they have received so far. We will update you with all of the latest details once they come in. Watch this space.
