The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Nick Walks Out Of Rehab – Matt’s Redemption & Lily’s Chancellor Bombshell

The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Nick Walks Out Of Rehab – Matt’s Redemption & Lily’s Chancellor BombshellThe Young and the Restless spoilers document that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) wants out of rehab and is projected to make that happen because he can check himself out.

But once he returns to his regular life in Genoa City, Wisconsin, he’ll be very vulnerable.

Getting hooked on drugs wasn’t something that he ever thought would happen. But a series of events, that included Matt Clark’s (Roger Howarth) latest return and a car accident he caused while Nick was attempting to kill him, led to a broken femur.

Nick checked himself out of the hospital after being there for approximately one day. That specific decision was directly tied to the ongoing pain issues he endured and eventually sought enhanced measures to address.

Getting Clean Isn’t Easy, Nick Newman

Nick has long seen himself as the guy who saves other people from peril. Matt’s attack on Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) in the 1990s sparked a crisis-response cycle.

That’s one key reason why Nick spun out. He’d played the role of the hero but was rarely cast as the dude in distress.

His recovery process, which included a desire to help Marie Kirkland (Jade Harlow) deal with her addiction issue and now her supposedly leaving GC, has been uneven.

So, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) was right to be concerned about his brother leaving rehab well before he seems ready to do so.

Matt Clark Begins With Patty Williams

Matt has Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) figured out. He was initially influenced by her hardcourt press, specifically against Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).

However, a lot’s happened since Phyllis knocked Matt unconscious and intended to trade him to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). For one, Matt and Phyllis have fallen in love with each other.

Secondarily, he escaped captivity at the Newman Ranch and hasn’t faced Victor’s reprisal yet.

It feels like Matt will be involved in resolving Patty’s status. She won’t roam loose in GC for long and will either escape to an unknown destination, be captured, or possibly meet a permanent fate.

Assuming Matt helps that effort, he’ll then have time to focus on making peace with Sharon and Nick. Having him form a type of friendship with Nick would be a master stroke and provide opportunities for both actors to continue their great on-screen drama.

Meanwhile, Lily Winters Searches For A Secret

It’s hard to know what the additional secret is being held in the files at Chancellor. The first reveal had Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) learn that his father made a major loan to Phillip Chancellor II (Donnelly Rhodes) in 1975.

Why that part of this show’s history would be reimagined is intriguing. Devoted fans know that the character of John Abbott didn’t debut until 1980, in the form of the first actor who played him, Brett Halsey (John).

Sean Garrison briefly played John as well in 1980, with Jerry Douglas (John) being the recast in 1982. He remained in that role through the remainder of this character’s run and Douglas’ life.

Lily doesn’t feel it makes sense that Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) would have been aware of an outstanding loan that, if unpaid, would have allowed John to absorb Chancellor into Jabot or, in modern times, for his heirs to assert ownership rights.

So, Lily’s pursuit of this secret, which potentially could be delayed until after Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) delivers her and Billy’s baby, should resolve the open question sometime this winter.
