General Hospital Spoilers: GH Ball Dropped – Are Dante and Gio Cool Yet?

General Hospital Spoilers: GH Ball Dropped - Are Dante and Gio Cool Yet?General Hospital spoilers reveal Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) has been hard at work taking up the mantle of Police Commissioner of the PCPD that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) unexpectedly left behind.

That has come with the tension of having to recently demote his best bud, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard). He’s also been slowly but surely moving on with his life ever since the loss of Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco).

While the fans have been waiting for him to be ready enough to explore his unresolved feelings for his ex-wife, Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening), it appears Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) is taking care of that for him — and Dante’s going to allow it.

Moreover, he’s been sniffing around Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) lately with some sort of sudden romantic interest that fans say feels out of place.

With so many potential storylines swirling around in Dante’s orbit, I have to wonder: Why isn’t Giovanni ‘Gio’ Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) one of them?

Hanging By a Thread

This father and son haven’t exactly mended the giant rift between them. In fact, some might argue that it’s only widening as they allow more time and space to seem in between them and drown each other out.

When Gio first found out that Dante was his father, he wasn’t thrilled. Despite the adoption being a complete secret from both of them, Gio still emotionally held it against Dante every bit as much as he did against Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton).

The irony is, he’s kissed and made up with his birth mom at this point, but he and Dante just can’t seem to come together.

GH Spoilers Say Gio Lost His Way

Gio is still struggling to figure out which way is up. It’s not all bad. He’s got a job he enjoys at Bobbie’s that lets him engage with the community of Port Charles.

He has great friends, and a great girl in Emma Scorpio Drake (Bradeyn Bruner). Still, he can’t seem to figure out what his future holds when his family is made of patchwork and his music career has been sidelined.

The pain he feels when he goes to that creative place seems to be dissipating, but he isn’t ready to let go of the anger either, and some of that might be residual tension against his dear old dad.

Dante Isn’t Much Better

It’s not just Gio who can’t seem to find the roadmap back to his centered self he once knew. Dante has been a bit adrift ever since Sam’s death. He’s finally finding his footing in the new job, with conflicts with both of his friends — who are also coworkers.

He’s testing the waters with flirtation again, even though it seems like Elizabeth is going to choose Dante’s uncle, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst), to share her heart with. Could Dante find fulfillment in making things better with his son instead? He’ll never find out if he doesn’t stop resorting to attacks on him every time his other son, Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr), slips up.
