The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates reveal Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and the influential figures of Genoa City have gathered at Cane Ashby‘s (Billy Flynn) chateau in France. Completely cut off from the outside world, it’s evident that there are some dubious activities taking place.
Victor’s Misjudging Cane Could Lead To Serious Payback
We’re going to discuss how Victor’s misjudgment of Cane could lead to serious repercussions for him. Will Victor find himself wrongfully accused of murder and stuck in France as pandemonium erupts back at his businesses in his hometown? Okay, if you really think about it, the entire atmosphere of this event orchestrated by Cane is quite suspicious.
He has drawn in every key business figure from Genoa City to his mansion in Nice, conveniently located in an area with no cell reception, which has been mentioned multiple times. Clearly, this aspect is going to play a significant role in the storyline.
Cane Could Have Thrown This Big Party Anywhere
Cane had the option to host this party in America, in London, or anywhere else. However, he opted for this secluded spot, and perhaps it’s because he has something planned that requires everyone to be cut off from the outside world.
Therefore, while Victor, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), and the rest are in France, disconnected from their usual lives, what’s happening back in Genoa City? It could involve some nefarious activities, perhaps a corporate takeover-besides, we’ve heard from Joshua Morrow that a murder mystery is on the horizon. This means someone might end up dead, or at least we’ll believe they are.
Cane’s Clutches Exposed: The Sinister Strategies and Those Caught in the Crossfire
With everyone under Cane’s influence, we’ve been brainstorming some mischievous and entertaining ideas for the party and behind the scenes in town. So, will Cane make things difficult for Victor and some of his other guests? First, we need to discuss Victor and Chancellor Industries because Cane proposed to Victor a deal. This was to exchange Dumas’ assets for a controlling stake in Chancellor Industries, and those assets are significantly more valuable than the company itself.
However, Victor wouldn’t even think about it, and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) tells Victor that she doesn’t want to lose the company. She believes Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) wouldn’t want that either; Nick
Isn’t Cane Smarter Than That?
Isn’t Cane smart enough to have at least one, if not more, backup plans ready to go in case Victor decides to refuse him regarding Chancellor? In fact, aside from Cane’s interest in Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), I think his main focus at this party is Victor and the Newmans.
It seems that possibly Cane invited the others merely to serve as a distraction. Perhaps Cane hoped that Victor wouldn’t see him as the main target. I suspect Cane wants to keep Victor out of the way so he can execute a clever takeover strategy with Chancellor.
Murder Mystery Confirmed
With the murder mystery now confirmed, perhaps Cane will set up Victor to be arrested in France, preventing him from returning home.
That would be an interesting plot twist, especially if Cane is framing Victor for his own murder or an attempt on his life. The lack of cell phone service also feels very odd, as if Cane has engineered it so that no one can get a signal to check on what’s going on back in Genoa City.
Essentially, he has them isolated and quarantined. A military-grade cell phone jammer can be installed for under 10 grand, which is a small amount for Cane.
Chance’s Invite-Was Cane Telling The Truth?
Things change when he tells Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) that he invited him to the chateau because he’s a detective, not just a Chancellor. Cane believes someone might try to kill him by the end of the week; there could be more to this than meets the eye.
Perhaps Chance is part of Cane’s scheme to take over Chancellor, and this is just a diversion. Years ago, Cane’s father, Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers) forged some extra pages of Katherine’s will; Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) was thought to be Chance’s lawyer for that case, but she wasn’t.
The new pages named Cane as the heir, allowing him to take all of Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) money; eventually, it returned to him, and I believe Colin was behind it.
Chance’s Chancy Situation-Murder Victim Or Hero?
So, it’s possible that Cane and Amanda want Chance to sign something that could help reverse Victor’s control over Chancellor; it’s possible because Cane mentioned that someone is trying to kill him. Perhaps while Chance investigates, he could end up being the murder mystery victim since Connor Floyd is already working on Days of Our Lives.
If you follow that soap or have watched it before, you’ll know he is taking over Billy Flynn’s role as Chad DiMera.
Meanwhile, Billy Flynn is portraying Cane, and in the meantime, former Cane, Daniel Goddard, is on General Hospital-there’s a bit of a soap opera switch happening. Connor Floyd has begun filming at Days, which means he has finished his time as Chance on Y&R; so, he might be leaving in a body bag.
Victor Accused Of The Murder?
Perhaps he takes a bullet for Cane if someone is genuinely trying to kill him, or if Cane has staged a fake scenario where the shot is meant to miss. But then Chance jumps in front of it, which he has done before.
So, Chance might die a hero while saving Cane, or maybe he is poisoned, but it was intended for someone else. Regardless of who dies or becomes a victim of murder or attempted murder, Victor could be implicated in the crime.
Additionally, another unexpected event that might occur during this party in France involves Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver).
