General Hospital news says that there are a lot of fans out there who aren’t very happy with this casting decision.
General Hospital Fans Are Already Angry With Daniel Goddard
In fact, some people are downright upset that The Young and the Restless alum Daniel Goddard has now joined the cast of Port Charles as his new character, Professor Dalton.
And even though this might only be a temporary role, a lot of soap fans are just not too happy about it because of his past on Y&R. Apparently, Daniel was upset when he was supposed to have a romantic lead with a much older Beth Maitland a few years back.
Daniel was apparently so disgusted with the prospect of his character Cane being romantically involved with Beth’s character Traci. The actor complained about it to the producers of the show and he ultimately got fired from The Young and the Restless.
As you can imagine, the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter. Some have even commented with, “There are few actors in the history of this medium that elicit such disgust and dislike from me the way this one does—I mean, look at that smug ass photo up top?”
“Just waiting until he starts the desperate pleas on social media to gain support for what will no doubt be a shit character. I hope Joss remembers how to use a gun.”
Another fan wrote, “What he is is a smug, arrogant jerk. I already didn’t like his ass on Y&R–playing a character that went about ten years past his expiration date–and then the Beth Maitland mess really sealed the deal for me.”

And then there was this comment as well: “Why!?!?! Another older character when the show needs 20s – early 40s.”
“If they wanted Goddard to bring him on as a recast Jax. He could mix it up with Joss and Carly. Also an interesting pairing with Nina or Ava or Jordan.”
