Steve Burton Quitting General Hospital Because Of Current Storyline?

General Hospital Spoilers: Chances, Confrontations, Caught In A Trap!

General Hospital comings and goings suggest there’s a good chance that fans will be seeing less of Jason Morgan in the coming weeks and months ahead.

Steve Burton Quitting General Hospital Because Of Current Storyline?

That’s because there’s strong speculation on social media suggesting Steve Burton is looking to throw in the towel even though he’s only been back on the canvas for a short time now.

Apparently, it all has to do with his current storyline and the direction that the writers have taken his character in.

Simply put, many people believe that Steve is not happy with this “watered down version” of Jason Morgan and that he wants his Stone Cold alter ego to come back. The only problem is, the writers are not on board with that idea.

And even though Jason Morgan is spending more time with Danny and trying to protect Sasha from the evils of the world, it seems like Steve just doesn’t feel like his character is going in the direction that he would like to see it go in.

After all, Steve feels emotionally invested in Jason Morgan. Even though he’s played the character on-again, off-again over the years, it’s what has helped make him the household name he is today in the daytime television world.

General Hospital Spoilers: What’s Next For Steve Burton In Port Charles?

Now, whether or not Steve does leave remains to be seen. It’s not like he would be out of work in the soap world. Soon after he was fired from General Hospital back in 2021 for not complying with the network’s vaccine mandate, he was quickly hired by Days of Our Lives.

There’s a good chance that someone might pick up the actor again rather soon.

So far Steve Burton himself has not made any comments about the matter just yet.

Of course, General Hospital fans will have to tune in each and every day to find out what will happen next.

General Hospital airs weekdays on the ABC network. Check your local listings for times.

Bunch of hooey. As usual from this writer.

Stone Cold Steve Austin? Wrong Stone Cold. Yeah, I know thats where the name comes from, but never once on this show have I heard Jason referred to like that. I’ve never heard one character utter the name Steve Austin. 🙄

I can understand the dismay/problems being presented with the way the Jason character is being written for both SB and viewers to have question. Sure he needs to have more time with Danny, but to have the character going from being the strong viable protector for many of the PC residents to where he is being written now is such a contrast it doesn’t even make soap sense. Writers are destroying both the Sonny/Jason characters for whatever reasons as neither has the presence they once had. Apparently current writers have new visions for both characters, but their visions are destroying two of the major characters that have kept GH on top for so many years. Within the last few years writers have concentrated too much on mob stories and not enough hospital and character story lines. Regardless of who is hired to pen scripts, they follow the visions of the former writers with rewrites of history, etc. without even taking consideration of how to make story lines more interesting. Beloved characters are losing the personas they have carried for 15-20 years so badly they are hardly recognizable. With every writer change, I always hope they will look back into GH history and pen stories that incorporate history with current visions instead of tearing history and current stories apart. Without history, there is no future.

In NO way, shape or form should this EVER happen, especially to Steve! We absolutely LOVE Jason Morgan! When he was gone, he was VERY sorely missed. When we saw the promo with Carly and Sam (😞), and then Steve came out of the remaining door! How cool was that! Steve was coming back to his REAL soap home! We ULTIMATE GH fans agree that losing him would be a disaster! The current writing team NEEDS to SPICE UP his storylines and to figure out HOW to keep him from leaving. Because, if that truly happens, he more than likely will NEVER be back. And we CERTAINLY don’t want that. Not at all. 😡
