There’s heavy speculation that the new CBS soap, Beyond The Gates, is already struggling to stay on the air. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
This CBS Soap Is Struggling To Stay On Air
Apparently, there’s heavy speculation that the soap is having a very hard time getting things together behind the scenes.
A lot of soap fans have completed that there is very little information available about the soap. Not only that, but the CBS network has not provided a proper trailer for it and there’s been very little PR for the show’s debut. Because of this, some people think it’s going to struggle in the ratings.
It goes without saying that the internet certainly does have a lot to say about the matter.
Some critics have even commented with, “WHEN are we going to see a proper trailer for the show anyway? Plus the PR has been terrible as the premiere date should be front and center of any promotion, which it isn’t. Nor do we have a time slot being advertised.”
Another critic wrote, “Since Beyond The Gates requires the actors to be residents of Atlanta – meaning you must have a residence & they will check. I do not understand why they chose to shoot in Atlanta other than they might be getting tax credits. Los Angeles would have been a better place overall”
What’s Next For Beyond The Gates?
And then there was this comment as well: “I am going to boycott Beyond the Gates. They can cancel it and put back on All My Children Or As The World Turns.”
“The Gates is a nonstarter and as hard as some people might try, they are not going to abandon General Hospital.”
Soap veteran Michele Van Jean will serve as the head writer and showrunning for the show. Other executive producers will include Sheila Ducksworth, Leon Russell, Derrick Johnson and Kimberly Doebereine. We are already getting very excited about this one!
CBS said in a statement, “THE GATES will be everything we love about daytime drama, from a new and fresh perspective. This series will salute an audience that has been traditionally underserved, with the potential to be a groundbreaking moment for broadcast television.”
Beyond The Gates premieres Monday, February 24th on the CBS network.
