According to a new report, William basically threw his own wife under the bus when the world noticed that the photo that he supposedly took of her and their kids for Mother’s Day was heavily doctored.

And while their PR team wanted to issue a joint statement to use the words “we” and “our” so the two of them would take the blame together, Prince William didn’t want to do that.

One source close to the situation even said, “The initial prepared statement used the words ‘we’ and ‘our’, but the prince decided not to release it.”

“After all, it was his wife who’d manipulated the snap and nothing to do with him, and if the Press found out that he was covering for the princess, the speculation would only grow. When the statement was finally issued, it came from Catherine alone.”

Royal Family News: Was Prince William Bring Too Harsh?

Of course, the internet sure did have a lot to say about the matter. Some even commented with, “No he didn’t protect her and I am still of the belief she doesn’t have cancer and maybe that’s one reason why he didn’t admit it was him and let her take the brunt of the fallout.”

Another critic wrote, “It doesn’t really matter who doctored the photo. Normally, the RF would have blamed some nameless employee, but PW wouldn’t do that for Kate. For all her PR she puts out about how protective he is, he wouldn’t do what he does all the time and lie. That is significant.”

And then there was this comment as well, “I doubt William took that picture. All the spin that he is the devoted husband is so bogus. And there is no harry problem it’s the Charles and William problem.”

“That’s part of the problem and what makes this guy a liar. Nobody took the picture because it was a mashup of several pictures.”
