General Hospital fans are reportedly quite outraged over Patrick Mucahey leaving the show so abruptly. According to Soap Opera Digest, the scribe will no longer serve as co-head writer. Strangely enough, Chris Van Etten is back on the show’s writing staff and will serve as a breakdown writer. One source close to the situation even said, “There will be more news to share at a later date as to the composition of the new writing team.”
It goes without saying that the daytime television world sure did have a lot to say about the matter. Some even commented with, “Just to be clear – they brought on a VERY talented writer who understands soaps and writes well for female characters only let him go and reinstate the people who he was trying to clean up after?!” along with, “I mean, yeah. I was excited for it too. He was great at SB and this show could use some of that magic. This is a huge mistake being made by Frank and co. Absolute garbage.”

It seams to me that you’ll want GH cancelled pick the writers and let them do what them do best. You didn’t even give Patrick a chance. One set of writers takes the story line one way and before you know it we got a new set of writers and their taking it a different way. The viewers can’t keep up. You could have found a way for a miss diagnosis and kept that very handsome man on the show.
