For starters, she would be stripped from her title. But that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t continue working on her royal engagements. Diana was very active with her charities well after her divorce from Prince Charles at the time and there’s a very good chance that Kate Middleton might follow in her footsteps.
But when it comes to the couple’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, there’s a strong possibility that William and Kate would have to split custody. The three young royals would most likely attend all of the major royal events and holidays with their father, just like William and Prince Harry did when they were younger, while also spending time and a lot of holidays with their mother. It’s not an ideal situation, but one that William and Kate would make work.
