General Hospital Comings And Goings: Kate Mansi Joins The Cast Of Port Charles!

You didn’t think she would be gone for too long, now did you? General Hospital spoilers say that Kristina Corinthos-Davis is back. And while the character was once played by actress Lexi Ainsworth, it’s Days of Our Lives alum Kate Mansi (ex-Abigail) who will be taking over the role from her. How exciting! Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

General Hospital Comings And Goings: Kate Mansi Joins The Cast Of Port Charles!

According to Soap Opera Digest, Kate will make her debut in Port Charles the week of May 22nd. She’s already been on the set of the hit show and has filmed a few episodes.

As Abigail Deveraux on Days of Our Lives, Kate won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She left in 2017, but returned again in 2018 and last appeared in Salem in May 2020.

Back in 2018, Kate told Soap Opera Digest that there really was no place like home when it came to returning to her soap opera roots. Asked how long it took her to get back into character when she returned to Salem that year, Kate said, “In some ways I don’t have to work too hard because it’s just naturally there and it’s a part of me that’s never left, but just like true to life, we change and grow and there’s more depth as time goes on. So with Abigail, when I got back, I had to reacquaint myself with everything that I already knew, plus my perspective on how the circumstances in her storyline would play out for her in her psychology and how that would affect her decisions. For example, Marci Miller’s version of Abigail was quite softer than mine.”

GH News: Kate Mansi Is Back On The Canvas

She also admitted to not having any regrets about leaving the show back then. Kate explained, “I don’t have any regrets because when you take that leap of faith and you show up for yourself in a way that is so whole-hearted and committed, even though you don’t know what you’re saying yes to or there’s a lot of unknown out there, it’s always been an incredibly rewarding experience and something that I feel like was supposed to happen. I don’t have any regrets for leaving and I think that at the time, going back to DAYS was the next natural step, and who knows where the future will be?”
