General Hospital Comings and Goings: Briana Lane Is Back As Brook Lynn

General Hospital comings and goings reveal a familiar face playing Brook Lynn Quartermaine and it won’t be Amanda Setton. It seems Briana Lane is returning to the role.

General Hospital’s Briana Lane Steps In As Brook Lynn

No, Amanda Setton isn’t leaving GH, but she did have to take a last-minute day off recently and Briana Lane was tapped to fill in for the actress once again. As fans remember, Lane played Brook Lynn when Setton was on maternity leave in 2020 and was in the role when Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) slashed BLQ’s throat at the Nurses’ Ball, effectively ending her singing career.

It was also Lane’s Brook Lynn who had the one-night stand with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) that allowed the character to fake a pregnancy and claim that Valentin was her fake baby’s father. Playing Brook Lynn even earned the actress a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series.

Briana Lane Is Thrilled To Be BLQ Again

Lane could barely believe it when she got the call to play BLQ again at the last minute, but was happy to step in for Setton once again.

“From getting to play a such a creatively fulfilling role from a legacy family to being nominated for an Emmy [as Outstanding Guest Performer] to being asked back with such welcoming arms, my experience with GH the past two years has been such a positive, once in a lifetime, bucket list experience,” Lane told Soap Opera Digest.

She even quickly prepared for the role by watching what Setton has done with the character since she returned to playing her in 2021.

“Since it had been two years, I forgot what mannerisms I had and how I spoke, so that was really helpful.” Once on set, she says, “It felt like nothing had changed. There were some new faces I got to meet, but all in all, it just felt like coming back to a family.”

When Lane last played Brook Lynn, she and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) were enemies and Chase found himself arrested BLQ frequently. Now, they are a couple and when Lane plays the part for one day, Chase will have just launched his music career at The Savoy, a career being managed by BLQ. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see Lane play Brook Lynn one more time.
