This is the current reason why Cane needs Phyllis in his life. Stepping back in the storyline, before she stole control of Newman Enterprises from him, she needed him for access to power.
Yet, looking ahead, the dynamic is projected to shift. Rather than either person solely needing the other, Cane and Phyllis will likely find themselves on equal footing.
Victor Newman’s Latest Shrewd Move Is Working
Victor was never going to allow Cane to best him, and he was proved partially right. However, both guys underestimated Phyllis.
First, Victor needed to deal with Cane. So, he contacted Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and made a deal with her. She went along with his kidnapping ruse and got the twins on board.
Next, Victor is preparing to take what is rightfully his back from Phyllis. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) has already contacted the authorities, but her father is working on angles underground.
Phyllis Summers Stands Alone Atop An Empire
The characters within the world that is Genoa City, Wisconsin, and the viewers on the other side of the screen that are watching them agree. This storyline is preposterous.
Seeing Phyllis, of all people, as the head of Newman Enterprises just doesn’t feel right. The manner in which she obtained the company, which included knocking Cane unconscious through chloroform, was soapy, but at least within the bounds of daytime logic.
However, there’s no way that the audience would suspend logic forever, believing that Phyllis controlled Newman. Victor has to successfully avenge this self-appointed justice-maker and take control back.
Plus, it has to happen soon for believability to remain in effect. Citing artificial intelligence as the means for Phyllis’ victory doesn’t allow this tale to digest.
Cane Ashby Loses Power And His Family?
Cane lost Arabesque and then momentarily held Newman Enterprises. Lily told him that she was gone, and his children cut him off cold.
The only hope Cane has is to rescue his family from Victor’s clutches and then realize their appreciation. But they don’t need to be rescued because they are working with Braeden’s character.
So, it appears that Cane will realize the truth when Lily returns to town in the near future. Phyllis stands to be harshly forced out of power and recognizes that Cane is the only person with whom she can commiserate with in GC.
The recast character Flynn is portraying will have nothing. Being unable to fulfill his late father’s dream and having been betrayed by the woman he loves and their children will be very painful. So, misery loves Phyllis’ company?
