Young And The Restless Spoilers: Nick’s Latest Cover-Up Backfires – Why Isn’t He Going To Jail? The Young and the Restless spoilers say that for some fans, this just isn’t making any sense.

Key Takeaways

  • Nick tries to protect Marie by taking the blame.
  • His questionable story to police raises serious legal concerns.
  • Viewers are criticizing how easily Nick seemingly avoids consequences.
  • Fans are also questioning other holes in the Matt and Patty storyline.
  • Nick’s attempt to save Marie could still come back to haunt him.

Why Isn’t Nick Going To Jail For Doing This?

And that’s because Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) keeps on getting away with so many things on the show, and that’s not just because he’s a rich boy that grew up as a part of the Newman family.

Instead, it seems like the writers of the soap keep on making the kind of writing errors that you normally wouldn’t see on a huge daytime television soap like this.

For instance, during the latest episode of The Young and the Restless, Nick clearly should have gone to jail for lying to the police, which would have been normal in any other situation. But for some reason, Nick was left off the hook after the police left and for a lot of viewers, that detail just doesn’t make any sense.

Clearly, many The Young and the Restless fans had a lot to say about the matter on social media.

Some have even commented with, “That scene was beyond ridiculous. I mean Nick was whispering to Marie right in front of the cop. And why oh why would he volunteer to take the blame on killing a guy regardless of whether it was self defence or not. Doesn’t he have enough problems at the moment?”

What’s Next For Nick Newman?

Another critic of the soap wrote, “Bad writing again. Even before this, what about Matt finding Patti [no details] or in what prison could he go inside where Patti is housed? Or what about a guard leaving the w alone. So BAD.”

And then there was this comment as well: “The police officer was so bad. Somebody just killed a man in a drug rehab facility and he’s standing there with a blank look on his face listening to Nick make up his lies. Really ridiculous scene today.”

So far the producers of the soap have not made any comments about the criticism they’ve received so far. Watch this space as we have a feeling there is so much more to come.
