Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) might reconsider her decision on adopting a baby.
Spoilers for the end of the week indicate that she hesitates when it’s time to finalize the shady arrangement she made with her lawyer, D.A. Melinda Trask (Tina Huang).
Sophia Gave Birth Alone
So, if you’re up to date with the episodes, poor Sophia gave birth alone in her room a few weeks back, and then she panicked because she didn’t have adoptive parents ready.
She was concerned that Tate Black (Leo Howard) might change his mind about the adoption since he was a bit reluctant to sign the papers.
Sophia fears that Tate could back out of the adoption if he meets their baby boy; panicking, she left the newborn in the safe haven box at the fire station.
Since that moment, she has been sneaking around and using the fake pregnancy belly that Melinda provided her; fortunately, Sophia’s lawyer arranged for her to receive medical attention after the birth.
So, she got proper care, and she pleaded with Melinda for assistance to ensure that no one discovers what she did with her child.
Lucky Timing For Sophia-Her Parents Weren’t Home For The Birth
Sophia had good timing when she went into labor since her parents were at the movies; Tate is completely unaware-he believes his baby mama is still pregnant on the Peacock soap.
Melinda Trask feels sorry for Sophia because she sees her own past in her-Melinda was a pregnant teenager who gave birth to her daughter, Haley Chen (Thia Megia), in China. Her parents took care of Haley and raised her as their own; later, Melinda moved to the US.
Haley grew up thinking Melinda was her older sister. Now, she wants to support Sophia-Melinda has devised a scheme for them to travel to Chicago and act as if she is giving birth there.
The adoptive parents will pick up the baby right from the hospital, that’s the entire fabricated story. She informed Sophia that she can create some fake adoption documents that will persuade Amy Choi (Shi Ni Nielson), convince Tate, and hopefully anyone else.
Sophia Tells Tate She Had A Girl And The Adoptive Parents Were Present
In one of the major promos Sophia informs Tate that she has given birth to a baby girl, and the adoptive parents were present at the birth and took the baby away.
So, even with the cold feet spoilers for this week, it appears that Sophia is set to proceed with the fabricated birth story.
This leaves Tesoro as a foster child with Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) and Javi Hernandez (Al Calderon), who may then be up for adoption.
After Sophia reveals the significant baby deception to Tate, we might see her reconsider and realize she can’t continue living with the lie, as she can’t deceive Tate about their son. Although Sophia intends to continue her plans to attend college outside of Salem, it doesn’t imply that the baby should hinder her-Tate could be a single father.
Might Melinda Adopt Tesoro Herself?
What would truly intrigue me is if Melinda ended up adopting the baby after losing her daughter Haley-she was her only child. Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) had a meltdown and pushed Haley down the stairs at University Hospital, where she worked as a nurse, resulting in Haley’s accidental death in a bizarre incident. Melinda has a genuine affection for babies.
She was quite attached to baby Jude Brady (Oliver McLarty) when she was babysitting him, all while scheming to help take that child. You see, she has a fondness for babies and plans involving baby theft.
Sophia’s Desperation As Time’s Running Out
In the end, time is running out for Sophia, no matter what; recently, Tate reached out to touch her baby bump, which made Sophia freak out.
She then tried to explain it away by saying she’s just tired of people touching her belly. This past week, Tate visited while she wasn’t wearing the fake pregnancy belly, and she panicked, diving under the covers and putting a pillow over herself.
She’s bound to be caught unless she takes action; Sophia also ran into Javi and Leo while they were out with her baby in Horton Town Square. She got a bit emotional when she learned they named the baby Tesoro, which means treasure in Spanish-they updated Sophia about her son, completely unaware they were speaking to the baby’s mother.
Is Tate Really Tesoro’s Father, Or Is It Aaron Greene?
We have to question whether Sophia’s lie means Tate will never meet his son in person; Melinda and Sophia’s scheme essentially ensures that Tate remains unaware of the truth. Additionally, many DOOL fans still believe that Sophia is mistaken about the baby’s paternity; it’s not that she necessarily lied, but perhaps she didn’t think it could be someone else.
A lot of people suspect that Cat Greene’s (AnnaLynne McCord) younger brother, Aaron Greene (Louis Tomeo), is the one who got Sophia pregnant.
They got together the day she exploded and broke up with Tate for calling her Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) while they were in bed. They weren’t shown in bed together, but it’s a good chance they were, for a bout of grief sex.
Will Javi And Leo Adopt Tesoro?
If Javi and Leo are contemplating adopting Tesoro, Sophia believes that’s an ideal environment for her child. Perhaps she will conclude that she can reconcile with the deceit and keep Tate in the dark. Naturally, the truth often surfaces, though it doesn’t always. There have been paternity secrets in the past that spanned many years, and this could end up being another one of those cases—unless Sophia truly alters her perspective on the adoption of her baby.
