The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Nick Spirals Out of Control – Sharon’s Dangerous Matt Decision
Sharon may be Matt's last hope for redemption, while Nick's troubling behavior leaves Adam playing the responsible brother.

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) did feel sorry for Matt Clark (Roger Howarth). But her desire to help him heal isn’t what a still-agitated Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) thinks.
Matt’s decision to break into Sharon’s trunk and ride home with her so that he could then get inside the cottage was desperate.
The voices he’s been hearing are loud but not fully controlling, as the woman he once attacked proved to him.
Nick was outraged to see Matt inside the cottage. That was the home Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) gifted to Nick and Sharon when they first married in the 1990s.
Key Takeaways
- Sharon feels sympathy for Matt.
- Matt hides in Sharon’s trunk.
- Nick fears Matt’s intentions.
- Adam becomes the responsible brother.
- Matt may have a chance at redemption.
Daytime Days Gone By Around Halloween
Viewers recently saw a refreshed interior of the home where Sharon has lived for many years.
She decided to change the furniture, replace knickknacks, or what are now called decorations, and add new photos to the living room.
Everything looked great, and then she saw his face.
The look of fright on Sharon’s face pained Matt, but he knew that she was likely the only human being in the world who could help him.
As previously reported, Matt’s unexpected visit left Sharon facing a dangerous decision.
Matt is not an early Halloween monster, though this spooky tale is reminiscent of past scary stories that were presented around this time of year.
So, what was once Nick and Sharon’s wedding gift from his parents became the setting for a climax to this lengthy storyline.
Nick Newman Talks Role Change
Nick was tracked down, again, by his younger brother.
Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has become the responsible Newman brother in recent months.
A dialogue wink was made to the audience when Nick told Adam that he recognized they’d changed roles.
Nick had become the irresponsible, unreliable, and untrustworthy character.
Adam stepped up by looking out for Nick and his son while protecting the family.
That soapy turn of the tide has been evident, with even Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), who’s never been a fan of Adam, giving him credit while talking with her beloved husband about his younger son.
Meanwhile, Adam has already warned Nick against taking matters into his own hands.
Sharon Newman Solves Matt Clark
If anyone deserved to be part of this breakthrough, it’s Sharon. But will this storyline end on a good note or a tragic one?
Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) remains on the loose and is therefore a deadly danger.
Unlike Matt, she isn’t fighting her dark impulses but gives in to them, as demonstrated by the car crash she deliberately caused.
As Celebrating The Soaps reported, Patty fled the crash scene and left an injured Matt behind.
Here’s hoping that Patty reappears and is captured without any character being lost, including her, because Haiduk is such a great actress.
But, of course, the same wish goes out to the writing staff. Hopefully, their collective wisdom keeps Matt alive and on a long road to redemption.
Howarth projects superb talent, and it would be a shame if he’s only a short-term cast member.
Annemarie’s Take
I love seeing Adam become the responsible Newman brother while Nick is the one spiraling out of control.
As for Matt, Sharon might be his best chance at redemption, but I still think she’s taking a huge risk by trusting him.
