The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers: Kimberlin Brown Deserves An Emmy – Sheila Makes An Unexpected Decision
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Sheila Carter Sharpe (Kimberlin Brown) learned the truth. Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) was forced to admit that she was involved with her husband.
Later, at the Sharpe’s Il Giardino apartment, Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) finally stopped lying. He also acknowledged being involved with Taylor, which moves this highly compelling storyline forward.
Brown earned her first Daytime Emmy nomination twenty-three years ago, when she was part of the cast of The Young and the Restless.
Four years ago, she earned her second Emmy nomination while on The Bold and the Beautiful. Fans must be wondering whether the performance this great actor is delivering will result in her first Emmy win.
All Those Soapy Years Ago In Genoa City
Something noteworthy and potentially important occurred when Sheila spoke with Taylor. Before stabbing the pie with a pizza cutter, Brown’s iconic daytime character referenced Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman).
That specific mention took crossover fans all the way back to Sheila’s origin as a villain on Y&R. Longtime audience members, who’ve either followed that elder sister soap opera or who have also followed Sheila to B&B, know that Bregman’s character also crossed over and back between shows.
Sheila’s reference to having stolen Lauren’s baby goes back thirty-plus years. That was her first enemy, with Taylor merely being the latest female rival for the heart of someone Sheila was connected to.
Deacon Sharpe Is The Real Deal
Deacon is reasonably comparable to Scott Grainger (Peter Barton), whom Sheila fell in love with in Genoa City, Wisconsin. She stole the baby Scott and Lauren had, which established the diabolical reputation Brown’s character forged in soap opera history.
The development of Sheila’s and Deacon’s relationship on B&B, three decades later, was unexpected. Rather than becoming involved, they fell in love and married.
Ironically, Taylor was the one person who detected Sheila’s evolving character. As a psychiatrist, she saw her growth and recognized that a sincere effort to move past her backstory was being made. Taylor credited the bond with Deacon as crucial to Sheila’s personal growth.
Kimberlin Brown Has Another Opportunity
Brown returned to B&B after a fourteen-year absence in 2017. The show had to address the open-ended storyline that played out on Y&R in the mid 2000s.
Sheila was assumed to have died at Lauren’s hands after Bregman’s character shot her. But that proved to be a look-a-like that died, with Sheila saying that rumors of her death were wrong.
That stint ended in 2018, with minimal villainous drama resulting. Looking back, that appears to be a period when Sheila was already softening.
Her return to Los Angeles, California, in 2021 was purposeful. She revealed herself as John Finn Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) birth mother. Much has taken place since then.
But meeting Deacon was monumental and set Sheila on a different plane. As Taylor and Finn said, Deacon’s love is something Sheila has long needed.
Dealing with Deacon’s betrayal could easily become a replay of many past horrific incidents. Brown is evidencing Sheila’s struggle to control herself in what is already a remarkable performance in a career with so many high moments.
Here’s hoping Sheila takes the high road Taylor called for, and that redemption is the result. If so, Brown could claim a long-awaited and deserved Daytime Emmy award.
