Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may want to live the quiet life as private citizens, but don’t think for a moment that they are willing to give up the cozy titles in the process.
When Harry and Meghan left the Royal Family, many believed they would put their children’s titles in abeyance, at least until they come of age and decide whether to use it. You know, like the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh did for their kids.
But, even though Prince Harry is sorry for his father and brother, who are, and I quote, “trapped,” he doesn’t think his children will be particularly trapped or experience generational trauma by wielding titles from the hated institution. In fact, if they did lose their titles, Prince Harry will be furious.
This Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Fail Startled Prince Harry
When Andrew lost his titles late last year, it was a wakeup call for Prince Harry that he could actually wake up one day and lose it all. Now that Andrew has lost both his Dukedom and his Princely title, the reality that not only was such a thing possible, but could be easily established, is said to have left Harry shocked.
“The tremors of the unprecedented sanctions against Andrew must have shocked Harry. In public, he remained silent. In private, he realised that his own royal status was no longer invincible,” Tom Bower wrote in his new book, “Betrayal: Power, Deceit And The Fight For The Future Of The Royal Family.”
“Clearly, William was taking no prisoners. Once he was crowned as king, his brother might well show no mercy to him and Meghan.
Insulted by all the criticism targeted from Montecito, Harry could anticipate that the Prince and Princess of Wales’s anger about Meghan’s misuse of her royal title for profit would tip the balance. William would undoubtedly rail against her disloyalty. He might even strip Archie and Lilibet of their titles.”
Archie and Lilibet were officially allowed to use their royal titles at the end of 2022, even though they automatically inherited the titles when Charles became King.
Previously, Meghan Markle had implied the Royal Family sought to withhold Archie’s titles on account of his mixed heritage on Oprah.
