The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Roger Howarth's Shocking Debut – Matt Clark Isn't Dead

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that devoted fans recall who Matt Clark (as last played by Rick Hearst in 2001) was. However, using the past tense is no longer accurate, and a recast has taken place.

Viewers saw Matt pull a breathing tube out and put it in Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) hands as part of an attempted murder frame nearly a quarter-century ago. But all is possible in the world of daytime.

So, Matt’s (now played by daytime veteran Roger Howarth) seeming demise has been revised in modern times. The high-schooler Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) dated before falling in love with Nick, has returned for as yet unknown reasons.

The audience will soon learn how Matt survived and morphed into whatever the Mitch Bacall persona represents. Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun, who had long stints on General Hospital and Days of Our Lives) knows her husband’s identity will soon be known, unless she’s been kept in the dark. Her guarded demeanor will either be exposed as a front or she’ll potentially become a sympathetic character who has been fooled.

Halloween Horror Realized In LA

Learning that Howarth was joining Y&R was big news for daytime fans because of the long run he had on GH. Initial buzz indicated that the veteran actor would be playing a new character, Mitch.

It seemed like the start of a complex storyline where Mitch and Sienna would be presented as shady Californians who ran The Shadow Room. Their connection to Noah Newman’s (Lucas Adams) accident seemed plausible.

The stunner, in having Howarth’s character be an undead Matt, radically alters the anticipated trajectory. This story now projects a memorable continuation tale that dates back to the 1990s.

That’s Why Sharon Newman And Nick Newman Are Together Again

There have been multiple storylines pairing Nick and Sharon in recent years. Each offered a path for this one-time married couple to remarry after never doing so. But that’s not happened, with the current LA story representing another chance or tease, depending upon what happens.

Noah’s car accident and severe head trauma were the plot technique that enabled his parents to be together in another destination setting. Case and Morrow joined the cast in 1994. Sharon and Nick originally paired approximately three decades ago, when Matt debuted.

This also isn’t the first time that the character Howarth, now played by, used another name. Another comeback involved Matt having plastic surgery and going by the name Carter Mills.

Noah Newman Is A Mummy No Longer

Adams recently joined the cast, with Rory Gibson (Noah) last playing Nick and Sharon’s son. This recast includes the new actor’s face not being seen due to the severity of injuries Noah suffered in the accident, which is believed to have been an attempt to kill him.

Matt is the real monster, but Noah looks like one with his head fully bandaged. Y&R’s costume department deserves kudos for creating a mask that looks like bandages but also winks as Halloween mummies seen in many Hollywood classic flicks.

Noah’s head bandages are being removed, as preview scenes show. So, it will be interesting to see the actor as himself and learn whether Noah knows that Mitch is Matt.

He could have been lured to LA by Matt as part of a setup, with Sienna also being involved. Whether Howarth and Braun are part of the cast indefinitely or for short stints is part of the mystery of this revival storyline.
