Of course, we are talking about the Liam Spencer brain tumor storyline. A lot of people believe that it’s unrealistic and even downright offensive for the writers to add a million dollar surgery, seeing how so many people can’t afford that kind of healthcare in this country.
In fact, one fan even wrote on social media, “As someone who lost a close family member to a brain tumor at age 52, I found today’s episode thoroughly offensive.”
“Not sure exactly where they’re going with this storyline, but the mere implication that some experimental surgery only available to the uber-wealthy could magically cure an insidious disease has me ready to take a break from this nonsense.”
Others commented on the matter with, “If this fictitious story is affecting you so much you shouldn’t be watching. Also, I don’t think it’s cruel, I’ve lost people the same way.”
The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: What’s Next For Liam Spencer?
“The brain tumor/miracle cure story has been around for a while. If we as viewers take to heart every way a character dies the show would be absolutely miserable to watch. I’ve lost family and friends due to cancer, illness and even murder but none of the storylines have ever made me feel offended.”
And then there was this comment as well: “Also, it’s really terrible at the moment. Bad writing. Bad acting. Bad wardrobes. Bad lighting. Bad sets. Redundant storylines. Just bad, bad, bad. All viewers should be offended at this crapfest.”
“And yet another example today: Bill and Dr. Buckingham leaving Liam’s room to talk, and clearly walking right back into the same room with Liam’s bed moved aside. I understand it’s a silly soap. But put a little effort into it.”
