Meghan Markle Podcast To Be Long Lasting, But She’ll Soon Give It Up
Shortly after the release of her Netflix show, ‘With Love, Meghan,’ Meghan Markle launched her Lemonada Media podcast ‘Confessions of A Female Founder.’
The podcast aims to interview successful female founders and get to understand how they balance building successful businesses with family and personal life.
However, according to brand expert Nick Ede, the podcast is going to bite the dust soon. If this happens, this will be Meghan’s second podcast attempt to go bust, following her Spotify podcast ‘Archetypes.”
Meghan Markle’s Podcast Isn’t Relatable Enough To Attract A Wide Range of Listeners, Expert Claims
At the beginning of this new era for Meghan, reports surfaced that the Duchess had sought to recruit some of the biggest names in entertainment to join her in the series, including Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and even Dolly Parton.
However, when they all declined, she tried the next best thing. She snatched Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles for a bonus episode on the podcast.
Despite the promotional tactics employed to get fans tuning into the podcast, it’s safe to say that it is not joining the big leagues, at least at the very moment.
Brand expert Nick Ede believes it’s because Meghan has failed to connect with her audience.
“I think one of the biggest problems with this is that unfortunately, Meghan hasn’t had the people who are going to get the bums on seats who are going to get the listeners who are going to get the downloaders,” he said.
“And also the conversations aren’t particularly interesting. They’re only interesting to people who want to be female founders, and if they’re not, then it doesn’t really give them much to talk about.”
On the whole, Ede claims Meghan “isn’t particularly relatable.” He also cited a “massive disconnect” due to the fact that she’s not “a female founder.”
Meghan Markle Advised To Rethink Her Strategy
Instead of dropping podcast after podcast and fading away into obscurity, Ede believes Meghan would better make use of her time by focusing her efforts on being a fashion icon.
“I don’t think she’ll do another podcast. I just don’t think it’s working,” Ede predicted.
He then advised: “I would really sit back and go, ‘how front facing do I need to be? Do I actually need to be right at the forefront of it? Or can I just use my name to influence and drive sales, make money and feel much more protected?’
“I think that would be the best strategy for her in the long run.”
