Hope’s unnerved reaction is natural, and it’s fitting that these former rivals, the women who’ve each loved Liam and given birth to his children, would share that moment. Liam’s wishes aren’t being generated under rational circumstances, and Steffy feels the need to break the promise she made to keep this untenable secret.

John Finn Finnegan And Carter Walton Are Admired

Under other circumstances, Liam would not look at Finn and Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) to assume his paternal responsibilities.

But Liam expects to perish shortly. The timeline of his anticipated demise wasn’t provided when the grim diagnosis was offered.

Finn is someone Liam admires after their rough start. Viewers recall that Novlan’s character laid down the law when he and Steffy became a couple, telling Liam that he no longer had full access to her at his whim.

Liam fought back but eventually realized that Finn was the right man for Steffy during this era. He also recognized that Finn truly cared about Kelly Spencer (Sophia Paras McKinlay), and both men realized a truce that has now led to mutual respect.

Carter cares for Hope, which Liam realizes, and he wants her to have someone to be with when the grim reaper taps him on the shoulder. So, it’s possible that Hope follows through on that advice this spring and reconciles with Carter.

Clifton recently spoke about wanting to tell this story, deflecting speculation about whether he was leaving this daytime drama and potentially returning to General Hospital.

It’s far too early to know how this tale ends. But here’s hoping that one of B&B’s many talented cast members isn’t working his final arc in what has been a strong run.
