It appeared that Sharon killed Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom), dumped her body, and framed Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) for it. Case’s character naturally believed she was also responsible for Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) car crash.
It was easy for Sharon to believe she intended to kill her adversary. Phyllis was the first to assert that Sharon killed Heather, and she appeared to be right until the toxicology report was in.

No wonder Sharon wasn’t thinking straight. Her medications were laced with an illicit hallucinogenic drug that caused her to behave in irrational, unpredictable, and seemingly independently violent ways.
Sharon became fixated on Cassie Newman’s (Camryn Grimes) two-decade-old death and transferred those feelings to a target. Buried resentment about Daniel motivated Sharon to ruin his life by killing Heather and framing him.
But fans know that the audience experienced Sharon’s blackouts. Viewers saw what Sharon recalled and nothing more. So, fans never had the ability, like her, to know what happened.
As an aside, Grimes’s initial character died in 2005. But Case, Morrow, and Stafford’s thirtieth anniversary is this year. That’s why the current storyline includes adjusting Cassie’s death timeline.

Phyllis’ memory is repairing itself. The trauma she suffered in the car accident blocked certain moments. She’s only begun seeing the pictures of that fateful night in her mind.
She can see that a vehicle other than Sharon’s hit her head on. Relaying that to Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman) was a way to push the plot because Sharon and Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) overheard that reveal.
Recovering memories means that Phyllis is developing her thoughts. That prepares her to deal with Sharon’s victim status eventually.

Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins) is a retired psychologist. His vocation makes him proficient in hypnosis, which may help Sharon unlock her blocked memories.
If Jordan hit Sharon on the back of the head, we are not discussing completely missing memories. Instead, there will be some lost time moments on that particular night in the condominium with Heather.
So, it would seem that moments beyond the accidental murder scene will be explored. With them, it’s fair to wonder if Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) directed Sharon in recent months rather than a projected image of Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby) from the dark recesses of her mind.
