The Young and the Restless alum Jordi Vilasuso is back, but not in the way that many fans have probably hoped for. The actor, who was best known for his role as Rey Rosales on the hit CBS soap, is back on the small screen for a brand new drama! Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
The Young and the Restless Alum Jordi Vilasuso Is Back
According to Soap Opera Digest, Jordi, along with Adam Huss from General Hospital and All My Children alum Vincent Irizaary are all going to work on a new digital drama series called The BLVD. How exciting! Production begins this week in Los Angeles and will also star actress Nicholle Tom, who is the sister of The Bold and the Beautiful actress Heather Tom.
Now, as far as whether or not Jordi will ever come back to The Young and the Restless remains to be seen, but it is also highly unlikely seeing how his character Rey is presumed to be dead. His co-star Sharon Case did say that things haven’t been the same without Jordi on the show.
In 2022, Sharon admitted that Rey’s tragic death – in which he died in a car crash – should start off an interesting, new chapter in her life. She said, “Yeah, Sharon has never been a widow before, so it’s a challenging time to lose your husband or someone so close to you. The last time I played that was when Cassie died.”

Sharon also admitted that Rey’s death did some at the expense of The Young and the Restless losing the handsome and talented actor, Jordi Vilasuso. She said, “Yes, I know [sighs], that’s what these storylines do. Thankfully, this doesn’t happen very often but we are very sad to lose Jordi. However, the loss or death of one character can spin out many storylines for years to come, just like what happened with Cassie’s death.”
