Days of Our Lives News: Ron Carlivati Gives Insight On The Writer’s Strike

Sooner or later the entertainment industry is going to have to make some changes to end this strike before it really begins to cause some major problems. In fact, Days of Our Lives Head Writer Ron Carlivati recently opened up about the writer’s strike and how it might impact the daytime television world. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

Days of Our Lives News: Ron Carlivati Gives Insight On The Writer’s Strike

In a new interview with Vulture, Carlivati put it this way, “Our unique circumstance is our show’s on every day of the year. So unlike a lot of these shows that aren’t in production, our show is in production right now. And the shows don’t stop. They replaced us in 2007 when I worked at One Life to Live, and I can only assume they’re replacing us right now. I’m being replaced on day one by other people.”

As of press time, the writers union is still working on an agreement with the WGA. But because Days of Our Lives is filmed six months in advance, it’s very unlikely that it will be affected by the writer’s strike. Just like when everything was shut down during the pandemic, Days of Our Lives was one of the few shows that still had fresh new content to offer while everyone else went back to repeats.

Carlivati added, “They have scripts of mine and my team right now; I’ve written the show through almost Christmas. A lot of it is taped already, and what I’ve written already is taping in a few weeks, so soon they will run out. But as they did in 2007, the shows have continued.”

The Show Will Go On For Days of Our Lives

Many DOOL fans have commented on the matter with, “I support the writers’ strike but Ron Carlivati needs a long break from Days. He’s burnt out,” along with, “I’m kinda….looking forward to seeing what a new person can bring to the table? Dare I say it….I might be over Ron. I feel the same way with Dan and Chris, actually I think they are terrible head writers.”
