Serena shared the black-and-white photo on her Instagram page and captioned it with, “I loved talking about so many important topics with my dear friend Meghan as her first guest on #archetypes for @spotify! It’s out now and worth the listen, especially if you’re ambitious.”
Of course, many of her fans commented on the photo with, “I just finished listening to the podcast. It was fabulous! I loved the questions and your responses,” along with, “I am pleased with how well this was executed. From beginning to end, I enjoyed it. It was an enlightening and very touching conversation with Duchess Meghan and Serena William. This reminds me of a brunch conversation between two girlfriends about life, friendship, and motherhood.”
Another fan wrote, “The podcast was seriously one of the best hours I’ve spent in a long while. I’m recharged from it, and feel a bit better about my own life changes that are right on the horizon.”
British Royal News: Meghan Shares Heartbreaking Story
Meghan talked to Serena about a fire that broke out where their son Archie was staying back in 2019. She said that soon after they arrived in Africa, Harry and Meghan left their son with a trusted nanny while they went off to a royal engagement right away.
The Duchess of Sussex recalled, “He was going to get ready to go down for his nap. We immediately went to an official engagement in this township called Nyanga, and there was this moment where I’m standing on a tree stump and I’m giving this speech to women and girls, and we finish the engagement, we get in the car and they say, ‘There’s been a fire in the baby’s room.’ What?”
Meghan then said that everyone was shaken over the incident, but they had to go on to their next engagement, despite what had just happened.
“I was like, Can you just tell people what happened? And so much, I think, optically. The focus ends up being on how it looks instead of how it feels,” she said. “And part of the humanizing and the breaking through of these labels and these archetypes and these boxes that we’re put into is having some understanding on the human moments behind the scenes that people might not have any awareness of and to give each other a break. Because we did — we had to leave our baby… And even though we were being moved to another place afterwards, we still had to leave him and go do another official engagement.”
