The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Phyllis Earns Victor’s Gift – Phoenix Rises Again

The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Phyllis Earns Victor's Gift – Phoenix Rises AgainThe Young and the Restless spoilers document that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) was cleaning out what she believed was her rightful office when something unexpected happened.

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) arrived, credited her for having stood up to him, and then offered a gift.

Arabesque was the company that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) built with his father’s input.

With whatever Victor wanted to believe about how Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers) obtained the money to make that happen, the fact is that Cane developed that conglomerate into a powerhouse.

Part of Victor’s current plans involves punishing Cane. His use of Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) and Phyllis is astonishing, considering that the Moustache considered both enemies just weeks ago.

Matt Clark Is Working For The Newmans

Matt’s transformation is one of the more interesting plot choices in recent years. The presence of Howarth makes this possible and something daytime fans can support if they choose to suspend disbelief.

Howarth’s performance as this third main version of Matt has been truly outstanding. The longtime soap veteran is surely working his way to a Daytime Emmy Award nomination if he chooses to submit his name for consideration.

So, with that specific actor part of the cast, it makes sense that Matt would be on an evolutionary journey.

The rub is that his amnesia provides a barrier that prevents Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and others from killing him, and with Victor’s protection, Matt wants to earn redemption and is willing to do the great man’s bidding.

Cane Ashby Is The Target

Victor decided that Matt’s amnesia was real and that his actions in saving Nick’s life proved monumental.

He might not have an indefinite rope, but as long as he does what Victor wants, then there might be a chance for him to redeem his life.

That’s what makes the Phyllis angle all the more intriguing. Victor knows there was a major falling out and is using that conflict in giving Arabesque to her.

She shares a grudge against Cane with Victor and also has a calculated protection plan for Matt. That makes Victor’s plan all the more dangerous for Flynn’s character.

The intention is to have Matt befriend Cane, who Victor doesn’t know will be heading the Chancellor. Having Phyllis rebuild Arabesque should prove to distract Cane.

Phyllis Summers Always Rises

One of the more apt titles, possibly the most accurate, had Phyllis naming the doomed hotel she eventually was the sole proprietor of in recent years. The Grand Phoenix Hotel was her idea.

Like the great mythical Phoenix, Phyllis has been reborn time and again since she first moved to Genoa City, Wisconsin, in the mid-1990s. Devoted fans recall that it was when she was chasing and caught Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian).

All these soapy years later, Phyllis has yet another opportunity to start anew. Having Victor give her Arabesque provides an ideal vehicle in the enduring life of this character that Stafford so brilliantly embodies.
