He wanted to wish her well, even though Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is the man she intends to marry. Adam and Billy’s rivalry has been one of the darker elements of this show for many years.
Devoted fans recall that the character Michael Muhney (Adam) was playing at that time in the plot is still believed to have accidentally killed Billy’s daughter, Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono). But that outcome still remains an unproven fact.
Meanwhile, Billy is set to become a father again. He is in love with Sally and claims that she’s changed the course of his life for the better.
Billy Abbott Is Forever A Doomed Man
Some characters in classic tragedies are forever doomed. Such is the apparent case with Billy.
He tagged himself as the eternal screw-up many years ago and became the bane of Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) existence while married to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). Being the father of one of her biological children and another that she adopted keeps him tied to her indefinitely.
Billy was trending toward a long-term relationship with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). But then she and Adam were drawn back together, with their son’s health issue reigniting their lasting bond.
Adam’s prediction is that Billy will hurt Sally. That protective stance holds because Grossman’s character still cares for her, which is tied to the daughter, Ava Newman (no child actor played that role, unlike Adam’s unborn son), whom Sally sadly miscarried.
Sally Spectra Is In Love Again
There was no doubt that Sally fell hard for Adam. He was the first man she was in love with after crossing over from The Bold and the Beautiful, where Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) had her heart.
Adam broke Sally’s trust, and that ended their first stint as a couple, which was also paired with the loss of their expectant daughter. A year passed, she forgave him, and they tried again.
But Adam fell into old patterns and cavorted with Chelsea. Sally wasn’t overly surprised, and Billy became her next beau.
Adam Newman’s Heart Still Aches
Adam wants Chelsea to consider having another baby with him. That’s a big ask and one that came out of the daytime blue.
She knows him better than anyone and can link Sally’s pregnancy to Adam’s sudden desire to have more children. He also has the rarely seen Christian Newman (Alex Wilson).
Devoted fans know that Chelsea and Adam also have another child, Riley Newman (Malachi Barton). That child, who was seen in a dream sequence, died before birth when Chelsea was in a car accident.
The audience heard Sally tell Adam that she sees Ava in her dreams, which was an interesting repetition of a plot technique used with Riley. So, Adam’s desire for another child is believable.
Whether Chelsea eventually agrees to his request will be seen. It would be an intriguing development at this point in both of their lives.
