All three young and restless people, plus Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock), were at Bikini Bar when Will punched his foe after he talked to Electra.
Cue the violins, because the next day RJ whined to his dad and FC boss, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), that Will needs to be fired because he’s a menace to society. This is a complete re-write and we’re here to break down this nervy move!
Will is a Good Guy
Up to now, Will has been beloved at Forrester even though he’s a rival Spencer. He’s earnest, likeable, and hardworking. Even Ridge has been impressed wit his enemy’s son.
Then RJ came back from wherever he’d been and immediately shot daggers at Will. Once RJ set his sights on his cousin Electra, his behavior turned goonish.
It’s almost as if the show is sacrificing Will for RJ.
Will vs. RJ
We’ve got to ask, is there enough room at FC for both Will and RJ? It doesn’t seem like it, and of course this could be a set up to have Will defect to Logan.
But in the meantime, fans have noticed the difference in storytelling now that RJ is back.
Is RJ a Thug?
RJ is all of the things he is accusing Will of being: entitled, hostile, and snarky. Yes, Will sucker punched RJ at Bikini Bar and that was wrong.
But fans online are talking about RJ being creepy and spoiled, and—gasp–a stalker. He’s a darker version of the previous iteration and maybe starting down the road Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada) once traveled.
Remember Luna?
What do you think B&B fans, are you Team Will or Team RJ? Do you think the show is rewriting each character and if so do you like it?
It looks to be a long, hot summer among the younger set, with RJ, Will, Electra and Dylan front and center!
